Refugee Education Initiative

targets capable, highly motivated students with a refugee background, who are pursuing higher education and employment. Through this initiative, refugees are provided money for their education, enrollment counseling, tutors, and opportunities for social integration. Most importantly, the initiative hopes to guide students to marketable employment where they can be productive family, professional, and community contributors.

Meet the Team!

Roger Boyer

Trustee and Benefactor


is an experienced businessman and the founder of The Boyer Company. He has served on boards of various non-profits, including the United Way of Salt Lake.

Amy Wylie

Executive Director


has been assisting and advocating for refugees as a community volunteer for 10 years. She participated in former Utah governor Jon Huntsman’s Refugee Working Group, the State Refugee Services Office, and is a founding board member of the Utah International Charter School.

Raymon Burton

Executive Director


has been involved in refugee resettlement in various capacities for the last five years. He recently worked with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in developing their refugee initiatives and spent half of 2016 embedded within the International Rescue Committee.

Steven B. Ostler

Managing Partner


is an experienced businessman. He has worked as a community volunteer during the prior year and has served on numerous non-profit boards.

Craig Christensen



has a diverse background in sales, marketing and general management in some of the largest multinational organizations in the world. He is a seasoned executive with over 20 years of experience.
